During our journey through Europe at the end of 2022, we had the great pleasure of meeting the extraordinary Belgian clarinetist, educator, and composer Stephan Vermeersch at a clarinet event in Poland. His remarkable approach to the bass clarinet, particularly the effortless beauty and expressive power he brings to the instrument, left a lasting impression on us.
Inspired by this encounter, we set out to develop a new bass clarinet mouthpiece in the French style, designed to meet the tonal and technical demands of modern bass clarinetists. After extensive collaboration and numerous refinements, the Stephan Mouthpiece was born – a highly versatile model perfectly suited for orchestral playing, chamber music, wind ensembles, and solo performances.
With this mouthpiece, we aim to provide clarinetists with greater tonal freedom and expressive possibilities, reflecting the unique style and musical vision of Stephan Vermeersch.
